Cycling Tour of Britain
Cycling Tour of Britain
The weekend saw the start of a week-long cycling challenge across the length and breadth of the country, a competition course for the very best of national and international cycling teams, including Bike Channel-Canyon, ONE Pro Cycling, Team JLT Condor, Team Sky and more.
Starting in the historic city of Edinburgh, the hardmen of cycling sport take their race to the rolling hills of the Scottish Borders. Starting outside of St Giles’ Cathedral, to cross 190km of spectacular countryside, the opening day sees epic climbs and descents throughout the day.
There is little rest ahead. Monday sees the start of Day two in the picturesque Keilder Water and Forest Park. The riders will tackle a 211km stage, taking in the Northumberland coast line and proceeding to Blyth for a sprint finish.
Day three is definitely a day for sprinters, with a relatively short and flat stage stating at Normanby Hall Country Park and finishing on the east coast town of Scunthorpe.
The riders take it to the wire in a total of eight stages throughout the UK, culminating in a finale in Cardiff on September 10th. There will be plenty to watch and we can’t wait to see the challenge progress.
